Occupational Employment Statistics

Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) is a federal/state cooperative program that conducts surveys twice a year to produce annual employment and wage estimates for more than 800 occupations. The OES survey covers all full-time and part-time wage and salary workers in nonfarm industries. Surveys collect data for the payroll period including the 12th day of May or November. The survey does not cover the self-employed, owners and partners in unincorporated firms, household workers, or unpaid family workers. Data are available on the estimated number of workers and the entry, average, and experienced wages paid to them by industry, ownership, and geographic area. These areas include the U.S., North Carolina, metropolitan statistical areas, workforce development boards, prosperity zones, and counties.

Additional program information can be found at the BLS website.
