Monthly Employment Hours and Earnings Current Employment Statistics (CES)

The Current Employment Statistics (CES) program, also known as the establishment or payroll survey, collects monthly data from a sampling of North Carolina employers. On this site, estimates of the number of payroll jobs within industries for the U.S., North Carolina and its metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) are available from 1990 to the present. Included are seasonally adjusted estimates for the major industry sectors for the state and nation, allowing for better comparison over time by smoothing seasonal trends. Estimates of the average weekly and hourly earnings, and average hours worked for production workers and nonsupervisory employees in the Manufacturing sector (Durable and Nondurable Goods) are also provided for the nation and North Carolina.
